Michael Duffield
Michael Duffield developed the successful national launch of Mr. Yoshida’s Fine Sauces for Heinz – taking a strong regional brand created by Junki Yoshida to the forefront of consumers’ minds.
He was the national public relations manager for Whole Foods Market and assisted in brand development for Chalmers Chocolate Co. from packaging and consumer facing communications to sales materials and web presence – helping the brand find shelf space at Whole Foods Market and Crate + Barrel. In addition, in his 30 year public relations and brand communications career Duffield has represented Southern regional grocer BI-LO and most recently developed and executed North American consumer programs for Almond Board of California.
Too often, communicators wear the mask of interest and involvement with the industries they seek to promote. Duffield has passion for pop culture, the food arts, retail, design and consumer goods. He believes it's the only honest way to promote food and businesses [from artisanal to big CPG] effectively. For example, over the years, part-time jobs at Neiman-Marcus and Barneys New York, a stint as a sous chef, representing restaurants in Chicago, New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, and management positions with Marshall Field's and Williams-Sonoma have given him a unique grasp of creative consumer and lifestyle branding.
